Remote — Global HR platform
(Senior) Engineering Manager / Mar 2024 – Present
Managed team leads (hands-on managers) and a staff engineer. Led product and technical initiatives across the Platform & Ecosystem group (mobile app, product fundamentals, integrations, and partnerships) and, later, Payroll product ecosystem.
- Accountable for a portfolio of programs to improve the efficiency and global availability of payroll processing to Remote’s client base. Partnered with Group PM and Design Director.
- Hiring Manager for senior backend engineers. Team lead and ‘bar raiser’ interviewer.
- Led a department-wide performance calibration for the engineering org (about 250 people).
Zoa — Consumer platform for energy companies
Senior Engineering Manager / Jun – Dec 2023
Zoa span out from Bulb to deliver CX tech for energy, becoming a startup in search of product market fit.
- Collaborated with product, design and sales leaders to sign Zoa’s first customer. Drove the delivery of two wedge products across three engineering verticals.
- Defined org structure and ways of working for new customer operations product group.
- Codified expectations of the Eng Manager and PM roles. Coached and developed individuals.
- Implemented cultural and policy changes while retaining key engineering talent.
Whereby — PaaS for video meetings

After their Series A in 2020, I joined Whereby to lead and scale the Engineering team — a hybrid team with a hub in Oslo — building video meetings software for ‘a world where anywhere works’.
